At Keré Hair Co. UK, every product begins with a question most sellers don't ask: not “is this raw?” but “will this hair actually behave the way we've told you it will?”

What “Raw Hair” Actually Means

The hair industry has no single, enforced definition of “raw hair”, which is exactly why we're transparent about ours. In its most honest sense, raw hair is human hair collected from a single donor, kept in its natural cuticle alignment, and never chemically processed (no bleaching, perming, or silicone coating).

What it doesn't mean is "untouched". Even the highest-quality hair we source goes through basic handling, namely washing, sorting, and gentle steam alignment, before it's ready to become a wig or extension. We'd rather explain that plainly than let a marketing word do work it can't back up.

How We Vet Our Sources

Every supplier relationship behind Keré Hair Co. UK has been built directly through years of sourcing, site visits, and repeat orders across hair-producing regions. Before any hair reaches our Nottingham studio, it's assessed against the same standards every time:

• Cuticle alignment and fibre strength, checked by hand, not just by eye
• Behaviour under normal use: how it responds to washing, heat, and styling over time, not just on arrival
• Consistency across batches, because a beautiful single sample means nothing if the next order doesn't match it
• Reliability of communication, which tells us as much about a supplier as the hair itself

Suppliers who can't reproduce the same quality reliably don't make the cut, regardless of how good a first sample looked.
